Funeral services for Steven Douglas Wallace, age 50, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Post and Bro. Dennis Hackler officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 10, from 5 PM until 7 PM at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church.
Mr. Wallace, a Master Trooper with the Louisiana State Police in the Bureau of Investigations Division, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018. He was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, the Louisiana Trooper Association and served in the National Guard. After graduating high school, Mr. Wallace joined the Bastrop Police Department, where he worked until 1995 when he joined the Louisiana State Police. He loved hunting, fishing, and baseball, but his true love was his family.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Herrington Wallace; sons, Cadge Wallace and Christopher Wallace; mother, Alice Wallace; brothers, Michael Wallace of Bastrop, LA, Tom Wallace and wife Julie of Loganville, GA; aunts, Alma Lachney and husband Wesley, Faye Morrison; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mr. Wallace is preceded in death by his father, Harold Douglas Wallace; paternal grandparents, Sam and Vera Mae Wallace; maternal grandparents, Bill and Gladys Cox.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Troopers Bob Brown, Chris Jordan, Clint Martin, Gary Beasley, Daniel Grissom, Zach Crooks, Matt Jones, Jr., and John Peters.
Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the Louisiana State Police.
