Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Townsend Green are scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 8 PM Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Green was born December 15, 1916 and passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014, at the age of 97. She was a resident of Bastrop, LA and a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. She was retired from International Paper Company, Single Service Division, after 25 years of service.
She is survived by her daughters, Gladys Jean Henderson and friend Colin Day, Betty Jo Miller and husband Benton; son, Scotty Townsend and wife Donna; sister, Cloteal Drake; brother, Clarence Pullen; grandchildren, Thane Gilliam, Clay Gilliam, Briant Gilliam, Chemene Mendelson, Steve Miller, Cindy Mercer, James Scott Townsend; eight great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Green is preceded in death by her husbands, Scott Townsend, Leo Solomon, B.J. Green; parents, Viola Carroll and Charlie Pullen; brother, Horace Pullen.
Serving as pallbearers will be, James Scott Townsend, Steve Miller, Thane Gilliam, Clay Gilliam, Briant Gilliam, Mike White.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Nick Miller, Preston Miller, Dewayne Pullen.
