Obituary of Leon Henderson

Funeral services for Mr. Leon Henderson are scheduled for 10 A.M. Thursday, February 26, 2015, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Casey Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Henderson, age 82, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015. He was a retired technician with AT&T and Lucent and a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Henderson also served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Henderson is survived by his wife, JoeAnn Hawsey Henderson; daughter, Lori Henderson Stephens and husband David of Bastrop, LA; daughter-in-law, Nancy Henderson Shawhan of Orange, TX; brother, Leland Henderson and wife Evelyn of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Traci Stephens, Elizabeth Stephens and Carrie Grace Henderson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by parents, Nathan and Bessie Henderson; son, Buddy Henderson; brothers, Jack, Laurence and Douglas Henderson. Serving as pallbearers will be Ken Henderson, Wayne Henderson, James Henderson, Richard Henderson, Mike Henderson, Steve Jenks and Tony Silmon. Honorary pallbearers will be the Social Security Hounds Sunday School Class at Central Missionary Baptist Church.
