Obituary of Floyd "Buzz" Gold

Funeral services for Mr. Floyd "Buzz" Gold, age 87, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 at North Bastrop Church of God with Rev. David Sistrunk officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Gold, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015. He had retired in 1990 from International Paper Company. Mr. Gold was a member of North Bastrop Church of God, an avid wood craftsman, and enjoyed bowling. He is preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Gold; father, Horace Ben Gold; mother, Viola B. Gold; brothers, Kenneth E. Gold, Milford Bill Gold; sister, Violet Fryer; sons-in-law, Jim Porter and Hubert Neal. Mr. Gold is survived by his children, Barbara Porter Neal, Dale Turman, Donna Stoner, Mike Hall, Rickey Hall; sister, Ruth Ivey and husband Robert, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Campbell, Ronald Oden, Hugh Arthur, Larry Pittman, Rudy Rayna, and Danny McGrew.
