Obituary of Huey Pierce Singley

Funeral services for Mr. Huey Pierce Singley, age 87, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015, in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Singley, a resident of Bastrop, LA and retired from the Morehouse Parish Sherriff's Office, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015. Mr. Singley, loved to fish, he enjoyed his job as an investigator, he was a licensed pilot and loved to fly. Mr. Singley served his country in the United States Navy, he was a member of the American Legion Post #51, and a member of Mt. Gerzim Masonic Lodge. Mr. Singley is preceded in death by his parents, John Albert Singley and Lela Lillian Singley McCarty; step father, Wilbur McCarty; wife, Ruth "Biddie" Singley; and a brother R.L. Singley. Mr. Singley is survived by two daughters, Sandra Sue Singley Holley and husband Raymond of Mer Rouge, LA, Teresa Kay Singley Kelley and husband Bo of Destin, FL; three step-sisters, Elizabeth McCarty Haynes, Shirley McCarty Wall, Barbara McCarty Frehe; one step-brother, David McCarty and wife Ronna of Bastrop, LA; three grandchildren, Jeff Holley, Chris McDonald, Jason Stanley; four great grandchildren, Grant McDonald, Dakota McDonald, Ella Stanley, Beckett Stanley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be , Mike Tubbs, Danny McGrew, Antonio German, Chuck Lord, Carl Patrick, and Chad Priestly. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Carroll, David McCarty, Clarence Strange, Roy Hinson, and Roy Cook. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Golden Funeral Home.
