Obituary of Lee Nathaniel "Slim" Barnett

Funeral services for Mr. Lee Nathaniel "Slim" Barnett are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 1, 2016, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday, February 1, 2016, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. service time. Mr. Barnett, a retired tree trimmer and resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at the age of 63. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Mr. Barnett was known to be an avid fisherman and hunter who loved his special dog, Droopy. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Mary Ann Barnett; daughter, Sarah Jean Rodgers and husband Joey of Belzoni, MS; sisters, Patsy Marie "Sissy" Dinning of Eupora, MS, Arlene Ayres of Hot Springs, AR, Mary Stewart of Greenville, MS; twin sisters, Glenda Langley of McGhee, AR, and Linda Fuller of Mark Tree, AR; sister, Rita Barnett of Bastrop, LA; brothers, Buddy Barnett of McGhee, AR, Dean Barnett of McGhee, AR, James Barnett of Mt. Olive, NC; and grandchildren, Nathan Bridges, Marianna "Danni" Bridges, and Joseph Rodgers. Mr. Barnett is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Patsie Barnett; brothers, Rodger Barnett, Robbie Barnett, and Barney Barnett. Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Nall, Buddy Nall, Gary Bennett, Michael Bliew, Robert McDonald, and John Stout. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Nall and Norman Stewart.
