Memorial funeral services for Mr. Larry Eugene Leachman, 73, of Bastrop were held at 2 PM Monday, April 18, 2016 at Central Church of Christ with Mr. Daniel Cook and Mr. Waymon Swain officiating. Visitation was Monday from 1 PM until 2 PM service time under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Leachman, a retired employee of Entergy, passed away Sunday April 17, 2016. He was a member of a wonderful church family at Central Church of Christ. Mr. Leachman was a veteran of the Untied States Air Force and also served in the United States Army Reserves. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed working with leather and making knives. Mr. Leachman's final act of selflessness was that of an organ donor. He is survived by his wife, Faye Spigner Leachman; daughter, Terri McKiggan and husband Mike of Frisco, TX; son, Ricky Leachman of Frisco, TX; step-daughter, DeAnn Hay and husband Kade of Castor, LA; step-sons, David Duane Spigner and wife Tammy of Mer Rouge, Damon Brice Spigner and wife Bobbie of Collinston; sister, Beverly Johnson and husband Rodney; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and a host of friends and loved ones. Mr. Leachman was preceded in death by his parents Sherman Henry Leachman and Helen Dorothy Leachman, and also by his grandparents.
