Obituary of Verla Faye Edmoundson McCready

Funeral services for Mrs. Verla Faye Edmoundson McCready, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 1 PM Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Central Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip McCready officiating. Interment will follow in Bartholomew Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 21 from 10 AM until 12 Noon. Mrs. McCready, a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016. She loved music, dancing, quilting and playing the card game Rook. She is survived by her daughters, LeAnne Edmoundson Watt and husband Shannon of Dumas, AR, DeAnne Edmoundson Shaver of Fountain Hill, AR; sons, Tim Howington and wife Kathy of Oxford, MS, Mike Edmoundson of Fountain Hill, AR; step-son, Phillip McCready and wife Debbie of Bastrop, LA; sister, Opal Boyd Pamplin of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Taylor Morgan Edmoundson Gilbert, Lydia Paige Nicole Edmoundson, Madison Grace Edmoundson, Samuel Jacob Edmoundson, Jordan DeAnne Hall, Chance Michael Gulledge, Jonathan Blake Overbey, Chad Michael Delane Overbey, Michael Andrew Howington, John James Howington; step-grandchildren, Holly West, Whitney Goudy, eight great grandchildren. Mrs. McCready is preceded in death by her parents, E.R. and Grace Boyd, husbands, Buddy Howington, Delane Edmoundson, and Bill McCready and ten brothers and sisters. Serving as pallbearers will be Jake Edmoundson, Chad Overbey, Chance Gulledge, T.J. Ritts, Jimmy Kennedy, and Bobby Boyd. Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Overbey and Shannon Watt.
