Obituary of Raymond "Ray" Rachel

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Raymond “Ray” Rachel, age 86, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 1:30 PM Sunday at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Rachel, a retired employee of Georgia Pacific in Crossett, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion. He loved fishing and football. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Rachel; daughters, Glenda Hammac and husband John of Eight Mile, AL, Polly Crymes and husband J.B. of Bastrop, LA, Peggy Gillpatrick of Bastrop, LA, Rhonda Hoover and husband Kevin of Monticello, AR; son, Mike Fussell and wife Audrey of Bastrop, LA; sister, Lydia Kaba of CA; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Mr. Rachel is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Matilla Rachel; sister, Elsie and brothers, George, Leonard, Albert, Archie and Delbert. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Reynolds, Jacob Houston, Nathan Gillpatrick, David Gillpatrick, Trey Fussell, Darrel Gillpatrick and Cole Craig.
