Obituary of Carolyn Britt Thompson

Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Britt Thompson, age 72, of Bastrop, will be held at 1 PM Saturday, November 5, 2016 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lisa Mayo officiating. A private interment for family will be held at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, November 4, 2016 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Sterlington High School and Bastrop Vo Tech in drafting. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was active in local genealogy and enjoyed photography and growing plants and flowers. She is survived by her daughter, Cappie Fortenberry of Little Rock, AR; her son, Jeff Thompson of Carl Junction, MO; brother, Robert Britt and wife Sharon of Farmerville, LA; grandchildren, Stephanie Fortenberry, Shelby Fortenberry, Audry Thompson and Jenna Thompson; great grandson, John Ross Tubbs; nephew, Bryan Britt and niece, Wren Jordan. Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Eddie Britt and Leatrice Britt and husband, Shelby "Gene" Thompson, Jr.
