Mary Olivia Hodgkins, age 71, died March 29, 2017, at Christus St. Joseph Nursing Home, Monroe, LA. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Kilbourne Cemetery, Kilbourne, LA. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 5 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bastrop, LA. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Hodgkins, Sr., of Lake Providence. LA. Survivors include two sisters, Charlene H. Baudion, of Norcross, GA, and Carol H. Scott, and husband Paul, of Aiken, SC; two brothers, Charles Hodgkins, Jr. and wife Carolyn, of Monroe, LA, and James E. Hodgkins and wife Randi, of Vancouver, Canada; two nieces, Lani B. Johnson and husband Lee,of Norcross, GA, and Erin S. Herron and husband T.J., of Aiken, SC; two nephews, Mathew Scott, of Charleston, SC, and David Scott of Aiken, SC; one great niece and three great nephews; her best friends, Wilma and Walter Bonner, and Sue and Dewayne Glass; and her beloved dogs, Denny Crane, Ernie, Rosie, and Rufus. Mary was a retired public librarian and was a charter member of the Morehouse Humane Society. The family thanks Dr. Barry Weinberger, Dr. Darshan Patel, Dr. William Zollinger, Br. Brian Stucki, and St. Joseph Hospice for their compassionate care and all who have prayed for her during her illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Morehouse Humane Society, P.O. Box 87, Bastrop, LA, 71220, or to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
