Obituary of Rosie Lee Jones

Funeral services for Mrs. Rosie Lee Jones are scheduled for 10 AM, Friday, May 26, 2017, at Trinity Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Kenneth Pack and Rev. Nelson Jones officiating.  Interment will follow at the Mer Rouge Cemetery, under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 - 8 PM, and again Thursday, from 5 - 8 PM at Goldens.

Mrs. Jones passed away Monday, May 22, 2017, at the age of seventy-nine.  She is preceded in death by her husband Albert L. Jones, Sr.; grandson, Albert L. "Little Sonny" Jones, III; parents, Asa and Annie McDonald; and her brothers and sisters.  She was a devout Christian lady, who loved her church and dearly loved her family.  Kennedy Rice Dryers, and all the employees there, held a special place in her heart.  She enjoyed her hobby of painting at Jan's Art Studio.

She is survived by her children, Albert Jones, Jr., and wife Joyce C. of Bastrop, Ronald Dale Jones, and girlfriend, Venessa Island, Douglas Wayne Jones, Sr. and wife Judy, of Bastrop, and Belinda Sue Jones, of Bastrop; grandchildren, Sidney Jones, Douglas Jones, Jr., Elizabeth Halterman, Kristy Crawford, Stacy Kosmatin, Sherri Creason, Terri Clingen, and Pamela McIntosh; twenty-two great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and brother James Robert McDonald.

Serving a pallbearers are Clarence Lowe, Ronnie Pack, Lonnie Carroll, Todd Hughes, Danny Ray Jones and Marley Oldham

Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Arant and Howard Smith.
