Llewellyn Byron Rogers, 83, passed away June 1, 2017 at his home in Covington, Louisiana. A resident of Bastrop for 82 years, he and his wife moved to Covington in the summer of 2016 to be near family. Byron was an employee of International Paper Company for 44 years, retiring in 1996. An avid hunter and firearms enthusiast, he loved the sport of hunting. He also enjoyed catching bass with his favorite red and white Lucky 13. Most importantly, he enjoyed the camaraderie of the friends and family who joined in these activities.

Rejoicing with him in heaven are his parents, Luin B. Rogers and Mary Alice Metcalfe Rogers, his brother, Norman Keith Rogers and a host of beloved cousins, relatives, and long-time friends.
He is survived by his wife, of 65 years Zanona Houston Rogers; his children, Carol and Roger Burchfield and Linda Rogers; and his grandson, Luin Burchfield and his wife Jill Jeffers.

Extended family includes the angels of the St Tammany Parish Hospital Hospice who have been so important to him in the past several months.
