Obituary of James Norman "Jimmy" Braxton

Funeral services for Mr. James Norman "Jimmy" Braxton are scheduled for 2 PM, Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Richard Gambill officiating.  Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Mr. Braxton, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017, at the age of seventy-three. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bastrop and and avid outdoorsman that loved hunting and fishing.

Mr. Braxton is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Braxton; daughter, Kelli Braxton; parents, N.C. and Jo Braxton; sister, Carol Coltharp; and brother, David Braxton.

Survivors are Kristy Johnson, and husband John, of Bastrop; sister, Dianne Wilder, of Vicksburg, MS; granddaughters, Holleigh Johnson and Brooklyn Johnson; five nieces and two nephews; and special friend, Pamela Avery.

Honarary pallbearers will be Larry Metrejean, and the Men's Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church of Bastrop.

Visitation will be Friday, September 1, 2017 at Golden Funeral Home, from 5 - 7 PM.
