Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Huckabay Ireland, age 101, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at First Baptist Church with Bro. Phil Smith and Bro. Richard Gambill officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Ireland, a retired nurse and jewelry store owner, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. She served as a registered nurse from WWII until 1968 and was a National Bridal Consultant for Ireland’s Jewelry Store from 1968 until they retired and closed the store in 1987. Mrs. Ireland has been a member of First Baptist Church since 1951 and was also a member of the Lituary Forum Club.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Judith Ireland and Garland Ireland; sister, Elizabeth Towns of Gibsland, LA; daughter-in-law, Annette Ireland of Bastrop, LA; great grandchildren, Alexis Burchett, Joshua Ireland; three bonus grandchildren, five bonus great grandchildren and three bonus great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ireland is preceded in death by her husband, Garland C. Ireland;  parents, Walter Levo Huckabay and Willie Bert Poland Huckabay; son, LeVoe Ireland, and five brothers and sisters.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Yvonne Gordon, Kimberly Ray, Anna Jones, Body and Soul Sitter Service and Premier Hospice.
