Obituary of Edgar Leon Jones

Funeral services for Mr. Edgar Leon Jones, age 81, are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Bonne Idee Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jerry Stuckey, Rev. Nelson Jones and Rev. Clay Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Central Baptist Church Cemetery, Wisner, LA. Under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.

Mr. Jones, a lifelong member of Bonne Idee Assembly of God Church, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017. He was also a board member and served as Sunday School Superintendent. Mr. Jones started Leon’s Small Engine Shop. He worked at parts houses for forty-two years in the community.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Sproles Jones; sons, Allen Robinson and wife Kathy, Roger Robinson and wife Christina, Chris Robinson and wife Amy, Danny Ray Jones and wife Tena and Kenneth Jones; grandchildren, Joseph Robinson, Roger Robinson, Jr., Allen Robinson, Jr., Ryan Robinson, Wade Robinson, Corey Robinson, Jennilee Robinson Riles, Clay Robinson, Daniel Jones, Zach Robinson, Shelby Jones, Kenneth Jones, Jr., Becky McMullan, Amber Olden,  Kristie O’Rourke; twenty-two great grandchildren and nine siblings.

Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Elcord and Alice Zeola Jones and four siblings

Serving the family as pallbearers will be grandsons, Roger Robinson, Jr., Ryan Robinson, Clay Robinson, Wade Robinson, Corey Robinson and Daniel Jones.

Honorary pallbearers are Joseph Robinson, Allen Robinson, Jr., Zach Robinson, Sonny Jones, Ronald Jones and Douglas Jones.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 29, 2017 from 5 PM - 8 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
