Funeral services for Mr. Herbert Glen Thomas, age 84, will be held at 2 PM Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Oasis Church 6645 Milton White Rd. Bastrop, LA 71220, formerly Canaan Church, with Rev. Allan Eppinette, Rev. Dale Jordan, and Rev. Bob Lonadier officiating. Interment will follow in Bartholomew Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 12 Noon.

Mr. Thomas, a resident of Mer Rouge and retired, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017. Mr. Thomas was a United States Air Force Veteran and a hard worker. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Bascom Thomas, and Jettie Rea Thomas; sister, Elma Dean Barham; and a brother, M.L. Thomas.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 62 years, Charlotte Goyne Thomas; sons, David Thomas and wife Kathryn, Steve Thomas and wife Becky; sisters, Barbara Byrd, Shirley White; brother-in-law, Jerry Goyne and wife Pat; grandchildren, Sherrel Wellbrink and husband Chris, Chad Thomas, Blake Thomas; and great grandchildren, Avery Wellbrink, Landon Wellbrink, Michaela Rae Thomas, and Amelia Grace Thomas.

Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews, Mike Goyne, Kevin Goyne, Tommy Barham, Richard Byrd, Keith "Bubba" Thomas, and Don White. Honorary pallbearers are Acie Orr, Dale Page, and Pat Jones.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staffs of Oak Woods Home for the Elderly and Premier Hospice.
