Funeral services for Mr. James Herbert "Slag" Sliger, age 68, are scheduled for 10 AM Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Golden Funeral Home with Mr. Waymon Swain officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 7 PM Wednesday, December 20 at Golden Funeral Home.

Mr. Sliger, a resident of Collinston, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017. He was a member of Central Church of Christ and served in the National Guard. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and coaching youth baseball were some of his favorite hobbies. He was also a retired welding instructor who taught for 22 years at the Louisiana Technical College Bastrop campus and the Morehouse Parish Career Center for 5 years. He constructed metal art for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Bonita Atwell Sliger; daughter, Amy Denise Sliger Ware of Collinston, LA; son, James Jason Sliger of Collinston, LA; sister, Brenda Kaye Brown of Bastrop, LA; adopted brother, Chad Sliger of Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Karley Elaine Ware, Olivia Elyce Ware, James Nolan Sliger and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Sliger is preceded in death by his parents, James Carl And Kathleen Sliger.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tanney Tulley, Clint Furgason, Seth Church, James Nolan Sliger, Greg Blakely and Brad Atwell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ralph Jones, Reagan Durham and Kenneth Looney.
