Funeral services for Mr. John Angelo Parrino, age 90, of Bastrop, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday May 6, 2004, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Bob Inzina officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday at Golden's from 5-8 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 6 p.m. Mr. Parrino died Tuesday May 4, 2004, at his residence in Bastrop. Mr. Parrino was retired from the banking and financial industry and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He was past president of the Morehouse Country Club, member of the Bastrop-Morehouse Chamber of Commerce and a past board member of the Bank of Morehouse. Mr. Parrino was elected Mr. Morehouse in 1987 and was a member of the Bastrop Lion's Club, American Legion, Knights of Columbus and the VFW. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific. Mr. Parrino is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice McManus Parrino; daughter, Judy Ann Parrino; father, Andrea Parrino; mother, Antonia Scalia Parrino; and four sisters & three brothers. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Parrino Cook & husband Freddy of Monroe; son, John A. Parrino, Jr. of Bastrop; nine grandchildren, John A. Parrino III, Judy Ann Morris, James A. Parrino, Joseph A. Parrino, Jeremy A. Parrino, Jacqueline Alece Parrino, Lacy Morgan, Jeffrey Couch and Angela Couch Jackson; Fifteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as Pallbearers will be John Parrino III, Joseph Parrino, James Parrino, Jeremy Parrino, Jeffrey Couch, Blase Domino and Kevin Cockrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Llewllyn Brigman, Kenneth Brodie and Dr. Don Quinn, Sr. The Family would like to express thanks to Mr. Parrino's caregivers, Mack Burks, Lavelle Blakely, Columbus Morrison, Terry Hill, Shannon and Angela of Hospice of LA, Dr. Robert Lyon and Dr. Joe Reynolds.
