Funeral services for Rev. Lessie E. McDowell, 85, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004 at the Golden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allan Eppinette officiating. Burial will follow in Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Rev. McDowell, a retired cafeteria manager for the public school system, member of Cherry Ridge Church of God, retired Church of God minister and member of the Bastrop Ministerial Alliance, died Thursday, June 17, 2004 at Cherry Ridge Guest Care.
She is survived by her son, Carlton G. McDowell and wife Gloria of Bastrop, LA; two grandchildren, Greg McDowell and wife Elizabeth, Stacey Daigle and husband Randy both of Bastrop,LA; seven great grandchildren, Misty Daigle, Logan Daigle, Dillon McDowell, Somer Courson, Farrah McDowell, Jennifer Henson, and Jonathan Wilson; two great great granchildren, Bailey Henson and Blaze Henson and a special niece Shirley Benson. Rev. McDowell is preceded in death by her husband, J.W. McDowell.
Pallbearers will be Perry Eppinette, Lloyd Braswell, Brian Eppinette, David Evans, Joe Evans and Mike Brakefield.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 19, 2004 from 5pm - 8 pm at Golden Funeral Home.
