Funeral services for George A. Brown, Sr. are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, July 2, 2022, at the Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in West Monroe, with Rev. David Mixon and Rev. Johnny Barnhill officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Quitman, LA. The family will receive friends Friday, July 1, 2022, from 5 PM - 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home in Bastrop. Mr. Brown, a resident of West Monroe, LA (formerly of Bastrop, LA), passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the age of eighty. He was a member of the Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in West Monroe. Mr. Brown loved God, his wife, children, and grandchildren with all his heart. He was an Auto Mechanic and started his own business in the late 70's, where he was very generous in helping others less fortunate. Pop loved traveling, sightseeing, watching nature, and spending time with his family. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Wanda Brown; daughters, Kay Graves, Robbin Brown Aswell and fiancé, Jerry, Paige Smith and husband, Isaac; sons, George “Allen” Brown Jr. and wife, Mary, James Brown and wife, Louana, Andrew Kyle, Michael Kyle and wife, Misti, and Benji Kyle; sisters, Marie Richmond, Pattie Harrell, Betty Sue Morrow; brother in law, Shirley Branch; twenty grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren, with two on the way; one great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Sim Brown and Grace Myrtle Little Brown; daughter, Lena Sue Brown; brother, David Brown; sisters, Diane Sivils and Dottie Branch; and sons-in-law, Alford Graves, Tommy Aswell, and Dennis Aswell. Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Brown, Ronnie Brown, Brian Branch, Darrell Branch, Ricky Stone, and Andrea Jackson. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Branch. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ at 5898 Cypress St., West Monroe, LA, 71291.
