Funeral services for Lexie Maxine Sanderson Harper are scheduled for 1 PM Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Naff Avenue Church of Christ with Ministers Travis Arrant and Allan Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Goldens. Mrs. Harper passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 at the age of ninety-seven. She retired from Food Services in the Morehouse Parish School system. Mrs. Harper was a member of Naff Avenue Church of Christ, she loved reading her Bible, books of all kinds and working crossword puzzles and word searches. She had a faithful card ministry, sending out as many as fifteen to twenty cards a week. Mrs. Harper loved gardening, canning, and sewing for her family and others. She was a member of Busy Bees Quilting and a local Homemakers group. Mrs. Harper participated in all the activities at Lagniappe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and was known as the “Mayor of Hall 2". She is survived by her daughter, Janice R. Harper of Bastrop, LA; son, Glen Harper and wife, Tinna of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Josh Randall and wife, Nikki, Tia Johnson and husband, Scott, Ches Randall and wife, Amye; great grandchildren, Morgan Johnson, Shea Johnson, Joshua Randall, Ava Randall, Alex Maldonado, Cheyanne Randall, Bodi Randall; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family; and special friends, Donna White, and Thomas Crowder. Mrs. Harper is preceded in death by her husband, Travis E. Harper; grandmother, Ada Ridings; parents, S.P. and Bernice Sanderson; siblings, Eugene Sanderson, Dorothy Allen, Idell Knight, and Thurman Sanderson. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Alex Maldonado, Joshua Randall, Thomas Crowder, William Hayman, Ronald Bedenbender, and Peyton Sanderson.
