Obituary of Allie JW Bryan

Funeral services for Allie JW Bryan are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Cornerstone Baptist Church in West Monroe, with Bro. Kyle Bryan officiating. There will be a private interment in Bartholomew Methodist Cemetery in Bastrop, LA. The family will receive friends Saturday, prior to the service, beginning at 10 AM.
Mr. Bryan, a resident of West Monroe, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the age of ninety-seven. He was born May 30, 1927 in Fountain Hill, Arkansas. He had a long and fulfilling life. He served in the US Marines Corp at the end of WW11, and again in the Korean War. He worked at International Paper, Bastrop, LA for 31 years. While living in Bastrop, he was involved in the community by coaching baseball and softball and he also ran for Morehouse Parish School Board. In retirement, he worked for Patrick Henry Girls and Boys Home, Brookneal, VA and Palmer Home for Children, Columbus, MS. In his 80's, he began writing and publishing articles about protecting American freedoms. He loved fishing and gardening, and was extremely proud of his family. He was a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife Pauline Frost Bryan, his father Allie Frank Bryan, his mother Ophelia Norrell Bryan, his brother Rudolph Bryan, his sister Obelene Bryan Randall, and his grandson Matthew Freiling.
Survivors include his sister Jo Bryan Chism, his sons Kyle (Gaylynn) and Clay (Celli) Bryan and daughter Nancy Bryan Freiling (Tom). He had seven grandchildren: Caleb, Caley, Clayton, Nicholas, Matthew, Grant, Allie Corinne and six great-grandchildren (and precious twins due in May).
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Donnie Tillman, Mike McGregor, Clayton Bryan, Mike Bryan, Mitch Chism, Scott Chism, Randy Frost, Anthony Ardito, and Matthew Caleb Bryan.
