Obituary of Micheal Wayne Hodge

Funeral services for Mr. Micheal Wayne Hodge, age 79, are scheduled for 2 PM Monday, February 24, 2025, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Lonadier officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 PM until 2 PM, prior to the service at Goldens.
Mr Hodge, a resident of Mer Rouge, LA and member of Horseshoe Baptist Church, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Oak Woods Home for the Elderly following a short stay at St. Joseph Continuing Care Center in Monroe. He was an avid fisherman and in his later years, operated Lost Landing Bait Stand where he and his wife Mary lived for 45 years, on Horseshoe Lake. After her death, he moved to the Village of Mer Rouge. He became fascinated with jigsaw puzzles and earned the title “Puzzle Man”. He loved “old school” country music and after his baptism, he enjoyed collecting the hymns produced by Alan Jackson.
He is survived by his daughter, Amy Hodge Evans and Liz Evans, of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Cheryl Roberts of Denton, TX; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Crawford of Monroe, LA; Wilma Ann Arant of Swartz, LA and Reba Hodge of Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hodge is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Arant Hodge; his mother, Elizabeth “Liz” Owens; his dad, Austin Frank Hodge and his brother, Raymond Hodge.
