Becky & Patrick & families, Your mom had been neighbor, family, & inspiration to me. She graciously & expertly sewed a bridesmaid dress for me after I'd moved with husband & family to another state. I loved watching her and Dean...caring for her family... serving others in so many ways. With love & prayers, for you, & Janis & Jeff, as well.

Mrs Freeman was one of our favorite high school teachers. She definitely prepared us for college math. We are so glad she went the extra mile as a teacher to sponsor the honor society, Mu Sigma. Those memories made on that trip will be remembered fondly forever. Our friendship continued after we moved back to Bastrop. She would mend or hem a dress or two and we would visit and catch up. She even hemmed my daughter’s wedding dress and got to know her in the process! Such a special person, may you rest in peace, Amanda & Brent McDonald Class of 1985

Q: Where did Janet Travis like to travel?
A: Karvin & I first met Dean & Janet at church and we became very good friends. Janet liked to travel to Maggie Valley and they included us a few times. That woman could cook! She was funny and she & Dean kept us laughing. Those wonderful memories will always be special to us. To have special friends like Janet & Dean was a privilege and blessing from God! How thankful I am for the years of friendship with them.
Much love to the family,
Sandy & Karvin Adams

Sincere condolences for your family’s loss.
I have sweet memories of Janet cross stitching in the teachers’ lounge during our lunch breaks. Her laughter is in my mind’s memory even now. Such a dear lady and fantastic teacher who became a friend at BHS.

Charlie and I thought the world of Mrs. Janet. She was my favorite Fox News viewer!
Mrs. Janet was one of a kind. She was smart, dedicated and a delight to be around. We are both so thankful the Lord allowed us to be her friends.
Life will certainly be different without her presence. However, the Lord has promised it is never a good-bye but just a pause until we see each other again.
We are praying for each one who loved her.
Charlie and Nancy Peterson
