Obituary of Janet Travis Freeman

Funeral services for Janet Travis Freeman, are scheduled for 2:30 PM Sunday, March 9, 2025 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Freeman and Bro. Casey Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held Sunday from 1:30 - 2:30 PM at Goldens. Mrs. Freeman, a member of Green Acres Baptist Church, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the age of eighty-five. She was a retired teacher at Bastrop High School, having taught Algebra II, Physics, Advanced Math, and Computer Science. Mrs. Freeman was also the sponsor of Mu Sigma Honor Society at Bastrop High School for seventeen years. She was an excellent seamstress and loved listening to the old gospel quartets. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Freeman Hall and husband, Pat of Bastrop, LA; son, Patrick Dean Freeman and wife, Jenea of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Annah Hall White and husband, Justin of Sterlington, LA, Ryan Hall and wife, Amber of Sterlington, LA, Seth Freeman and wife, Jennifer of Choudrant, LA, Brylee Freeman, and Dean Freeman, both of West Monroe, LA; numerous great grandchildren; sister in law, Janis Freeman of Sterlington, LA and best friend, Florine Johnson of Bastrop, LA. Mrs. Freeman is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dean Freeman; parents, Eli and Maureen Travis; and sister, Carolyn Hull. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Dean Freeman, Tommy Bonner, Justin White, Ryan Hall, Seth Freeman, and Michael Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Patrick, Walter Bonner, and Wandall Coody.
