Funeral services for Mrs. Janet Bolin Bunch are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Justin Akers officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 7 PM Friday, March 28 at Golden’s. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery. Janet, born February 17, 1936, was the oldest of six siblings. Her family moved frequently, but they eventually settled in the McGinty community where she and Thelbert courted while picking cotton. They married after Janet’s graduation and were blessed with four children. Janet was a true southern lady in all respects, showing kindness and graciousness to everyone. She was a devoted member of New Hope Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Bastrop in her later years. She was very active in the McGinty community as a member of various clubs and sororities, and of course the Bridge Club. She dearly loved playing Bridge with her friends. Janet loved her children and supported them in whatever activities they chose. There were many ball games, especially at Prairie View Academy. She was the finest example of a Godly wife, a loving mother, and a Christian friend. While she will be missed greatly, she leaves a legacy for her family and the assurance that we will see her again. Mrs. Bunch is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Thelbert Hayman Bunch; father, Melvin Bolin; mother, Celia Del Rio Bolin; step-mother, Orillia Bolin; siblings, Betty Gunter and Johnny Bolin, and granddaughter, Yvette West. She is survived by her children, Perry Bunch and wife Carolyn, of Farmerville, Linda Bunch Wells and husband Tom, of West Monroe, Andy Bunch and wife Hope, of Bastrop, and Ryan Bunch and husband Micah Mahjoubian, of Philadelphia, PA; her siblings, Mary Ann Wilson, Lynn Trahan and Glen Bolin; as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Bunch, Henry Hoskins, Nathan Hoskins, Jacob Post, Lee West and Nathan Williams.
