Cyndi, a resident of Monticello, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the age of fifty-nine after a lengthy battle with cancer. Cyndi graduated from Bastrop High School in 1983 and went on later to obtain her associate’s degree in early childhood education. She was the director of the Head Start Preschool program in Cabot, Arkansas for several years. Cyndi later relocated to Monticello and took a job with the Drew County Department of Human Services. She started as a case worker and later worked her way up to a program eligibility specialist. Cyndi served at Drew County Department of Human Services for nearly twenty years. There she made many lasting friendships and cherished each one of them. Cyndi loved spending time with her family. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughter, Cheslee. One of Cyndi’s greatest joys was attending Cheslee’s dance competitions, ballet performances, and musicals. No matter the event, Nana was there as Cheslee’s number one fan. Cyndi was a very talented costume designer and took pride in designing her granddaughter’s dance costumes for competitions. Cyndi will be remembered by her friends and family as very kind, caring, compassionate and one of the most selfless people. She always went above and beyond to help others and always put her family’s needs above her own. She is survived by her mother, Ann Reeves; daughter, Meggan Oxner, and husband Seth; sisters, Kathy Bergh, and Alice Jennings, and husband Scott; granddaughter, Cheslee Oxner; nephews, Patrick Mizell, Matthew Kidd, and Tyler Jennings, and wife Hannah; niece, Carrie Mizell; numerous cousins, extended family members and friends.
