Funeral services for Mr. John R. “Briar” Daugherty will be held at 10 AM Friday, April 11, 2025 at the Bastrop United Pentecostal Church with Rev. A.J. Fulton, Rev. Dwight Fulton, and Rev. Keith Smith officiating. Interment will be held at 2 PM in Lacey Cemetery, Lacey, Arkansas. A time of visitation will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 5 PM - 7 PM at the church.
Mr. Daugherty, a member of the Bastrop United Pentecostal Church, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025. He was a retiree from International Paper Company after forty-two years of service and a member of the Timberland Hunting Club. Mr. Daugherty also served his country in the United States Army.
He is survived by his; son, John Phillip Daugherty of Bastrop, LA; brother, Jerry Daugherty of North Crossett, AR; special friend, Tommy Sexton of Delhi, LA; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Daugherty is preceded in death by his parents, J.P. and Gladis Daugherty; and sister, Shelia E. Jones.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be David Barton, Rodney Barton, Kohlson Barton, Garrison Barton, Hudson Barton, Doug Barton, and Sam Richard.
