Obituary of Frank Simon Gorman, Jr.

Funeral services for Frank Simon Gorman, Jr. are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, April 10, 2025, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Doug Edwards officiating. Interment will be held in Causey Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, prior to the service, beginning at 1 PM.
Mr. Gorman, a member of Victory Tabernacle, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at the age of eighty-two. He was a man of many talents and could do anything with his hands. Mr. Gorman was a licensed pilot and was very proud of that accomplishment. He was a heavy crane operator, as well as a corrections officer at the Missouri State Penitentiary in the supermax facility. Mr. Gorman also owned his own trucking company with his wife for over twenty years and loved dirt track racing.
He is survived by his children, Priscilla McDougald, and special friend Richard “Hog” Childers, Lisa Kellum, and husband Jimmy, Tommy Jackson Armstrong, and wife Angeline, Christopher Gorman, Shannon Armstrong, Tara Gorman, and Fordie Cook, Frank Mitchell Gorman, and wife Sabrina; sister-in-law, Gayle Gorman; brother-in-law, Doug Day; special friends, Tony Johnson and Joe McCarver; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Mr. Gorman is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Gorman; parents, Simon Franklin and Wallie Aury Gorman; brothers, William Mitchell Gorman and Cecil Gorman; children, Billy Joe Gorman, James Gorman, Brian Armstrong, George Allen Gorman; grandchild, Annah Joice Cook; and uncle, Marshal Land.
Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Mitchell Gorman, Ed Martin, Joe McCarver, Tony Johnson, Levi McIntyre, and Tommy Jackson Armstrong. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Blackburn, Fordie Cook, and Richard “Hog” Childers.
