Obituary of Nora Lusby Ray

Funeral services for Nora Lusby Ray, a resident of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 11AM Saturday, April 19, 2025, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Leonard McMillan officiating. Interment will be held in Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, prior to the service, beginning at 10 AM. Mrs. Ray a lifelong resident of Morehouse Parish, passed away on April 15, 2025, at the age of seventy-three. She enjoyed spending time outdoors. Nora was an avid reader; but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her grandchildren, Ashley and Tator Norris, Austin and Chelsea Vaughn, Jarrad Jackson and Logan Jackson; ten great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews, including her special care giver, Jessica Stallings and her sister, Polly Sue Lusby Mayers. Mrs. Ray is preceded in death by her husband, Duane Ray, sons; Walter Quinton, Paul Wade (Pee-Wee) and James Waylon Jackson; grandson, Will Vaughn; brothers, Joe Frank and wife, Louise Lusby, J.D. and wife, Patsy Lusby, and Paul Levon Lusby; sisters, Judith Jeanette and husband, Jack Brennon, Peggy Ann and husband, Charles Johnson; the father of her children, Walter Eugene Jackson. Serving as pallbearers will be Bro. Leonard McMillan, Jim Bob May, Jason Gray, Vinson Stokes, Dustin Stallings and Dillon McElveen.
