Funeral services for Mr. Mitchell Ray Hughes, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday at Goldens.
Mr. Hughes is survived by his sister, Sandra Harper; two nephews, James "Bodie" Cooper and wife Lisa, Chad Harper and wife Dawn; great nieces and great nephews, Candace Cooper, Jeremy Cooper and wife Anna, Jeri Harrington and husband Garrett, Austin Harper and wife Michelle; great great nieces and nephews, Journee “Monkey Butt”, Slade, Stetson, Annleigh, Landri, Elizabeth James, Spencer and Gentry.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Gail Hughes and parents, Mart and Precious Hughes.
Serving as pallbearers are: Dickie Gilly, Mac Hughes, Earl Crumley, Allen Campbell, Garrett Harrington, Austin Harper and Slade Cooper.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Janet and Mr. Rob at Premier Hospice for all their love and care for Mr. Hughes.
