Obituary of Hazel Lee Bissell

Mrs. Hazel Lee Bissell, a homemaker and resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the age of ninety-six. She was an amazing woman and loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ with all of her heart and had the heart of a true servant. She was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church and was known by many as a great prayer warrior. Her love for her family was only surpassed by her love for Jesus and she loved her family with her heart and soul and was devoted to praying for them constantly. Her favorite pastime was taking cruises with her family over the years. She enjoyed gardening and flower gardening, especially growing roses.
Mrs. Bissel is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Henry Bissell; parents, Stark Levi Reynolds, and Evie Earline Reynolds; children, Earline Beall and Douglas Bissell; and grandson, Charlie Jones.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Jones, and husband Charles, of Bastrop; her son, Henry Bissell, and wife Tonya of Crossett, AR; thirteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services honoring the life of Mrs. Bissell will be held by family at a later date.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Lagniappe Health Care for the excellent care of their loved one.
