Obituary of Amy Lee Whorton Nason

Funeral services for Amy Lee Whorton Nason are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, with Bro. Dennis Hackler officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, April 25, 2025, from 5 PM - 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Nason, a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the age of fifty-seven. She was a retired educator of thirty-three years who loved the retired life, and taking trips to the beach. Mrs. Nason was a devout Christian, wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved her Lord and family fiercely. She could light up any room with her smile and will be missed dearly. Mrs. Nason is survived by her husband, William Lee Nason, II; children, Jodi Ford, Bradi Smith, and husband Trey, Molli Nason, and Tripp Nason; sister, Debbie Wilson, and husband Todd; brother, Steve Whorton, and wife Kim; grandchildren, Layla, Adeline, and Henlee; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jacob and Penny Whorton; maternal grandparents, ML and Nobbie Wooden; parents, Lee Roy and Betty Whorton; and sister, Kathy Whorton. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Wilson, Jerry DeVille, Jeff Churchwell, Taylor Freeland, Nolan Whorton, and Brett Whorton. Honorary pallbearers will be LaVerne Johnson, Charlie Peterson, and Mike Wooden.
