Obituary of David Hofford

Funeral services for Mr. David Hofford, age 95, are scheduled for 10 AM Monday, April 28, 2025, at Golden Funeral Home with Bro. James D. Bowen and Bro. James Douglas Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until 10 AM, prior to the service Monday morning.
Mr. Hofford, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025. He was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. Mr. Hofford was retired from International Paper Company after forty-one years of service. He was a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who was dearly loved by both family and friends. Mr. Hofford enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and having large family gatherings.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda J. Bowen and husband Randy of Sterlington, LA, Connie S. Nichols of Bastrop, LA; sons, David W. Hofford and wife Gloria of Ruston, LA, Dallas K. Hofford and wife Gail of Farmington, AR; sister, Margie Oneil and husband Ernie of Bastrop, LA; brother, James E. Hofford and wife Sue of Houston, TX; grandchildren, James D. Bowen and wife Martha of Opelika, AL, Melissa K. Bowen Hughes and husband Doug of Crossett, AR, Shelley Luevano and Chris Baudoin, Holly Nichols of Bastrop, LA, Devin K. Hofford of Farmington, AR, Derek W. Hofford of Farmington, AR, Amy Jones and husband Russell of Bastrop, LA, Patrick W. Hofford and wife Ashley, Rebecca C. Hofford Black and husband Brandon, Brent L. Robinson and wife Jennifer; great grandchildren, Jude H. Bowen, Abby S. Nichols and Joe Vidos, W. Tyler Nichols, Brody T. Nichols, Declan K. Hughes, Evan R. Hughes, Killian T. Hughes, Fallon T. Hughes, Maggie Barrett Hofford, Asher Gage Snipe, Christian Hofford, Eden Hofford, Joshua K. White, Kaleb M. White, Penny L. Black, Jeffrey R. Jones, Samantha R. Jones, Ryley Robinson, Cooper Robinson, Raylien A. Richardson,
Myles Luevano and Savannah Luevano.
Mr. Hofford is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Doris A. Hall Hofford; parents, Frank and Ida Lou Bounds Hofford; siblings, Huey P. Hofford, Wilburn F. Hofford, Coy T. Hofford, Mildred Barbuto, Dovie L. Lindsay, Juanita Johns, Patricia A. Diel; daughter, Doris Irene Hofford; grandsons, Jeffrey Brasher, Christopher Cook and great-grandson, Levi Luke Bowen.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Patrick Hofford, Brandon Black, Brent Robinson, T. Barnes, Gage Snipe, and Joshua White. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Hofford's great-grandsons, Brody Nichols, Tyler Nichols, Declan Hughes, Evan Hughes, Killian Hughes, Fallon Hughes, Kaleb White, Christian Hofford, Jeffrey Jones, Cooper Robinson and Myles Luevano.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Premier Hospice, the VA In-Home Primary Care Program of Monroe, and special friend, T. Barnes.
