Woodrow Wilson “Bud” Adams, Jr. was born in Bastrop, Louisiana, on September 15, 1948, and passed from this life on April 27, 2025. He served in the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969-1970 and was awarded the Purple Heart. He retired from Bancroft Bag Company in 2010 after 29 ½ years of service. Memorial services are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, May 17, 2025, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Phillip McCready officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, prior to the service, beginning at 10 AM. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson Adams, Sr. and Ila Mae Stringer Adams Laing; son, Toby Dwain Adams; brothers, Richard Adams and Walter “Bunny” Laing. He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Wanda McCready Adams; son, Woodrow III “Chip” Adams; grandchildren, Courtney Adams and Mallory Adams; great-grandchildren, Cayden Burney, Elayna Maxwell, and Jaycen Cameron; sisters, Susan (Charles) George, Sheryl (Lyn) Anderson, Leah (Bill) Hicks, and Sydna “Libby” Bougere. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends, and special pets, Maggie and Brandy. The family would like to give a special thanks to Elara Caring for their loving care of Mr. Adams. Memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
