Obituary of Carolyn Lee Rice Simmons

Mrs. Carolyn Lee Rice Simmons, a homemaker and resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025 at the age of 77. Carolyn also affectionately known as “Puddin” by family, was best known for her love of gardening and collecting antiques. She also enjoyed spending time with family and loved showering her affections on Punkin and Smokey as well as former pets Sweet Pea and Puddin Pie. Carolyn always had a smile for everyone she encountered. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Larry Simmons; daughters, Becky Terry and husband Charlie, Cindy Hodge; son, Doug Gammill; step son, Jeffery Simmons; brother, Henry Rice; grandchildren, Lyndsay Black Lute and husband Michael, Kelsey Hodge, Tyler Maxwell and wife Hannah, Holly Terry and great grandchildren, Charlotte Binkley, Caroline Binkley and Valyn Maxwell. She is preceded in death by John C. Rice, Mildred Rice, John Simmons and Bernice Simmons.
