Obituary of Kathy Jean Brown

Memorial services for Kathy Jean Brown are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, May 18, 2025, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Norman Bryant officiating. A time of visitation will precede the service, beginning at 1 PM. Ms. Brown, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the age of sixty-eight. She was a successful business owner in Bastrop for many years and a member of Rowland Road Baptist Church. She loved her animals and enjoyed dancing as a pastime. Ms. Brown will be remembered as a kindhearted woman and a loving mother, who loved her family dearly. She is survived by her son, Dustin Brown, and wife Melissa; stepdaughter, Dawn Hardt, and husband Danny; sisters, Brenda Lee, and husband Dannie, and Connie Pruitt; brother, Ronnie Marsh, and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Destin Brown and Lexie Yarbrough, and fiancé Jin, and Liv Brown and Cruz Brown. Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her parents, Odell and Helen Marsh; and daughter, Melissa Brown Culp.
