Obituary of Billy Joe Wooten

Funeral services for Billy Joe Wooten are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, May 24, 2025, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Kevin Sanders officiating. A time of visitation will be held Saturday, prior to the service, beginning at 12 noon. Mr. Wooten, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the age of fifty-eight. He worked for the Morehouse Parish Police Jury in the Public Works Department for over thirty years, and in his spare time he enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Mr. Wooten loved his family immensely, and spoiling his grandchildren was his favorite hobby. He is survived by his wife, Debra Sanders; mother, Mary Wooten; son, Kerry Little, and wife Johnna; sister, Diane Potter; brothers, Donald Wooten, Michael Wooten, and Eddie Forte, and wife Teresa; step-son, David Sanders, and wife Beth; step-daughter, Ragen Murphy; grandchildren, Clayton Nelson, Hanah Grace Sanders, Kyley Sanders, Lucas Sanders, Mattie Murphy, Daxton Little, Delilah Little; and great-grandson, Jaston Swan. Mr. Wooten is preceded in death by his father, Howard Wooten; and brothers, Charles Forte and Henry Forte.
