Obituary of Vicky Brewster Murphy

Vicky Brewster Murphy, age 51, of Bastrop, LA, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was a member of First Apostolic Church of Bastrop and loved her family dearly. She was very charitable and civic minded and had a big heart for everyone. Mrs. Murphy helped organize many fund-raisers and advocated for the less fortunate, especially abused women and children. She also believed in educating women to be financially independent! Mrs. Murphy is survived by her husband, F.D. Murphy; daughter, Katie Murphy Tomera, and husband Adam of Marion, LA; sons, Benjamin Murphy and Sam Murphy of Bastrop, LA; sisters, Somer Brewster Eckert, and husband Aaron, Debra Brewster Hinson, and husband Frankie; grandchildren, Elizabeth “Evie” Tomera and Addelyn Tomera; sister-in-law, who she loved like a sister, Michelle Brewster; and special caregivers (nieces), Shellie Middlebrooks and Racheal Jones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Eva Brewster; and two brothers, Billy Brewster and Clinton Ray Brewster.
