Please share a memory of Kenneth Wayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kenneth Wayne Jackson of Bastrop, LA, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family and loved ones at St. Francis Medical Center after a brief illness. Services will be held at Golden’s Funeral Home in Bastrop, LA, on July 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Casey Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
Wayne was born on December 8, 1961, at Garnier Clinic in Bastrop, LA. He was a member of White Avenue Baptist Church. Wayne had a logging business in his early years in Simsboro, LA. He later moved back home to Bastrop and worked as a mechanic alongside his brother Todd at Moellers, Inc. until his health failed. You could still find him at home tinkering on any kind of cars, mowers, weed eaters, motorcycles, and bicycles for anyone that came by needing help. Wayne, along with his best friend and brother Todd, had a passion for motorcycles and four wheelers and seeing how fast they could make them go. They could ride better on one wheel than most could on two. Wayne also liked riding horses and loved his horse Vic. You could often see them riding through town or down the Crossett Hwy headed to Crossett. If you saw him riding, you would think he was a cowboy from an old John Wayne movie dressed in his trench coat and hat!
Wayne is survived by his mother, Carolyn Bonner Stidham of Sterlington, LA, and his father, Kenneth Oscar Jackson of Seminole, OK; his sister, Tammy Jackson McDuffie (Bubba) and brother, Michael Todd Jackson (Sherri) both of Bastrop, LA; his son, Michael Jackson (Jessica) of Bonifay, FL; grandchildren, Camerron Gauge, Cole (Hannah), Lillith, Emma, Micah, Neveah, and Kenneth, Jr., all of Bonifay, FL. He had one great granddaughter, Halana Jackson, also of Bonifay, FL, and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Wayne is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank B. and Dovie Fivecoat Bonner of Clarksdale, MS; his paternal grandparents, Joe E. And Margie Brown Jackson of Bastrop, LA; and a great niece, Madison Rene Jackson-Bagby.
The family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the North Monroe Baptist Church Building Fund, 210 Finks Hideaway Road, Monroe, LA 71203, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
