It’s hard to put into words what your friendship meant to me. For 35 years, you were the kind of friend who was always there — to listen, to laugh, to check in. You never missed a birthday, no matter what was going on in life. You always made me feel remembered.
You were the only one who ever called me “Shelly-K” — I still don’t know why, but it always made me smile. That nickname, your voice, your kindness — I’ll carry all of it with me.
I’m so sorry I can’t be there to say goodbye in person. My heart is with everyone who loved you. You were truly one of a kind, and I will miss you deeply.
