Obituary of Susan Laing

Funeral services for Susan Laing are scheduled for 3 PM Monday, July 14, 2025 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Joey Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Mer Rouge Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held Monday from 2 PM - 3 PM prior to the service. Ms. Laing, a member of New Life Church, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025 at the age of seventy-six. In her younger years she enjoyed playing softball and bowling. Later she loved hunting, going to the car races, dancing, and going on cruises! But the best thing was spending time with her family and getting into trouble with her best friend of fifty years, Sherry Brown. She is survived by her children, Amy Freeland and Wilbert Jackson, Chris Freeland and wife, Lindsey, Michael Frith, and Ashley Frith; siblings, Carolyn Petrus and husband Charles, Fred Laing, Jr. and wife Glenda, Tommy Laing, and Jimmy Laing and Sonja Brown; grandchildren, Christopher Twiner, Christopher Freeland, Ronny Freeland, Dalon Moore, Dawson Moore, Jaxon Costanza, Colson Costanza, Charli Costanza, and Kira Shock; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ms. Laing is preceded in death by her parents, Fred Olan and Lena Roberts Laing; and brother, Billy “Bill” Dan Laing. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronny Freeland, Christopher Freeland, Jimmy Laing, Fred Laing, Jr., Charles Petrus, Dawson Moore, and Dalan Moore. Honorary pallbearer will be Tommy Laing.
