Funeral services for Thomas Goodson are scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Ron Vollmar and Bro. Allan Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in LA Ark Cemetery, Jones, LA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, prior to the service, beginning at 9 AM. Thomas Goodson, a member of Bonita Baptist Church and resident of Bonita, LA, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the age of seventy-two. He retired from Mer Rouge Farms in 2004 and after retirement, he continued farming for himself while also continuing to manage irrigation for Jeffery Morris. Thomas, better known as “Poppa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He loved his Lord and Savior and we are all comforted in knowing he has reached his everlasting home! Thomas will be missed dearly by his family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Pamela Goodson; sons, Michael Goodson, and wife Robin, Jason Goodson, and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Brandon Michael Goodson, and wife Kristin, Preston Thomas Goodson, and wife McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Elaina Grace Goodson, Kinley Rose Goodson, Allie Beth Goodson, and Beau Thomas Goodson; sisters, Carolyn Stephens, and husband Marshall, and Janie Walker; brothers, Buddy Goodson, and wife Virginia, Johnny Goodson, Mark Goodson, and wife Geraldine; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dorothy Goodson SR; sisters, Betty Joe Goodson, Shirley White, and Minnie Pearl Herrington; brother, Harold Goodson, Jr.; and brothers-in-law, William White and Rev. Don Walker. Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Goodson, Fredrick Herrington, Pete Blakeney, Will Musgrove, Logan Daigle, and Shane Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Morris Farms. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Khalil and Dr. Spires for their continuous care and support of Thomas for over twenty years.
