Obituary of Vera Lenora Cox

Funeral services for Vera Lenora Cox are scheduled for 10 AM Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, September 1, 2025, from 5 PM - 7 PM at Goldens. Ms. Vera, a retired florist who worked for thirty-one years at Goldens, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the age of eighty-one. She is survived by her children, Kelly Gunter and husband, Keith, Lawrence “Bubba” Cox, Jr and wife, Karen, April Lester and husband, Phillip; grandchildren, Logan Gunter, Taylor Brooke Bowden and husband, Blake, Andy Bright, Hannah Bailey, Haleigh Ricks and husband, Daniel, Austin Cox and wife, Cassie, Caden Lester; and numerous great grandchildren. Ms. Vera is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Valdee Mosley; sister, Frances Ruth Cox; and grandson, Rylan Lester. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Keith Gunter, Phillip Lester, Logan Gunter, Caden Lester, Blake Bowden, and Richard Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers will by Daniel Ricks, Austin Cox, Lance Aulds, Andy Bright, Danny Cox, Jimmy Cox, and all of the employees of Goldens. The family would like to extend their heart-felt thanks to Dr. Weinberger, Dr. Billy Branch, Vickie Linzay, Bertha Rowland, as well as the staff of Premier Hospice and Laginappe Healthcare for taking such loving care of Ms. Vera.
