Obituary of Michael Lewis Doles

Funeral services for Mr. Michael Doles are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, September 3, 2025 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Traylor and Bro. Larry Linson officiating. Interment will follow in Bonita Cemetery, Bonita, LA. A time of visitation will be held Wednesday from 1 PM - 2 PM prior to service. Mr. Doles, a farmer and member of New Hope Baptist Church in Jones, LA, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025. He was a graduate of Bonita High School, and also went on to graduate from Northwestern University. Mr. Doles was a loving husband, father, granddaddy, and great granddaddy. Mr. Doles is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Nancy Guice Doles; children, Buffy Goodson of West Monroe, LA, Jamie Everett Hoston and husband, Samuel of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Megan Davis and husband, Jordan of Rocky Branch, LA, Amanda Harris and husband, Corbin of Winslow, AZ, Austin Goodson and wife Lindsay of Bastrop, LA, Delton Goodson of Gillette, WY, and Truett and Layton Hoston of West Monroe, LA; great grandchildren, Fisher and Analynn Davis, Reid and Stella Harris, Titan and Carrington Goodson, and Valerie Peppers; brother, Don Doles and wife Barbara; sister, Debbie Boone and husband, Ronald; sisters-in-law, Carol Robertson and Denise Doles; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fort and Beatrice Doles; son, John Michael Goodson; and brother, Jimmy Doles. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Austin Goodson, Delton Goodson, Truett Hoston, Sam Hoston, Corbin Harris, and Jordan Davis. Honorary pallbearer will be Dexter Smith.
