Mrs. Farrar, resident of Collinston, LA, was born to Clyde M. and Lillian Kimble Thompson on April 20, 1937, and passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the age of eighty-eight. In 1981, she began working at Collinston Meat Processing, a division of Louisiana Vocational College. When they closed, she moved to the Louisiana Votech campus, and worked there until her retirement in 2005. Martha loved gardening, growing beautiful flowers in her yard and in her home, all of which she did so very well. She and Jim traveled many, many miles following their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to watch them participate in all their many sporting events.
She is survived by her husband James F. “Jim” Farrar; daughter, Cindy Turner (Tony); sons, James L. “Jimmy” Farrar (Marsha) and Gerald F. Farrar (Holly); sister, Virginia Mayo (Mack); granddaughters, Randi Brooks (Dustin) and Madelyne Shelton (Brennan); grandsons, Michael Hinton (Becca), Jeremy Hinton, Tyler Farrar (Hannah); great-granddaughters, Cypress Mae Farrar, Annalee Brooks, and Harli Hinton; great-grandsons Harrison Hinton, Adyn Hinton, Dawson Brooks, Max Shelton, Sam Shelton, and Hunter Culbreath.
Mrs. Farrar is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Lillian Thompson; brothers, Billy Thompson, Clyde L. Thompson, and Don “T-Joe” Thompson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Hinton, Jeremy Hinton, Dustin Brooks, Tyler Farrar, Dawson Brooks, and Brennan Shelton. Great-grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt love and gratitude to the LeGrand Memory Unit for their wonderful care of Martha.
