Mrs. Hankins, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away in the early morning hours Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025 at the age of 63, surrounded by her family. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist church. She was great at everything she did. Creativity was her gift. She worked numerous jobs throughout her life but mostly she did what she was most passionate about which was taking care of others. Even when she wasn’t physically able, she made sure to check on everyone. She was the strongest, bravest, most unselfish person. We will all miss her “Goodnight, I love you” texts. She always made sure everyone knew how much they were loved. She was a devoted wife of 34 years, a caring sister, the best mother anyone could ever ask for, a trustworthy friend but those grand babies were her entire world. Her smile was infectious and we will carry her in our hearts forever. To know her was to love her... Mrs. Hankins is survived by her husband, Rev. Bruce Hankins; daughters, Crystal Hankins, and husband Britt, Tina Black, and Corbin Williamson, Melanie Hankins, all of Bastrop, LA; son, Brad Hankins, and wife Jackie of Waynesville, OH; sister, Tammy and Chris Farr of Texas; brother, Jerry Paul of Georgia; grandchildren, Blake Hankins, and Brianna Alcorn, Brittney Jaggers, and husband Maverick, Rachael Costello, and husband Chasten, Drake Neveu, Chloe Norris, Noah Lolley; and great-grandchildren, Leeland Turner, Brantley Hankins, and Lorelai Jaggers. She is preceded in death by her father, James Kenneth “Man” Paul; mother, Mildred Lorise “Sis” Paul; brothers, Jackie and Ray Paul; mother-in-law, Catherine Hankins; and father-in-law, Jack Hankins. Serving as pallbearers will be Brannon Smith, Dewayne Glass, Rod Drurey, Thomas Defreese, Stewart Bodie and Mark Gilliam.
