It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Jackie Kinney Moore, age 87, of Bastrop, Louisiana, who went home to be with the Lord on September 28, 2025, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Jackie was born on January 27, 1938 in Kilbourne, Louisiana, and dedicated her life to caring for others. As a retired labor and delivery nurse, she spent over 40 years helping bring new life into the world—offering comfort, strength, and skill to countless mothers and babies. Her work was more than a job; it was a calling, and she served with grace, compassion, and excellence. A devoted mother, grandmother, and woman of strong faith, Mrs. Jackie lived her life anchored in love and guided by her belief in Jesus Christ. Her faith was evident in every aspect of her life—from her kind words and warm hugs to her quiet prayers and gentle strength. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she served joyfully for many years in ministries close to her heart. Above all, Mrs. Jackie cherished her family. She was a constant source of wisdom, comfort, and encouragement to her children and grandchildren, and leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering faith. She is survived by her children, Veronica Sturdivant (John), Buddy Kinney (Marty), and Sue Ann Pullin (Terry); brother, Walter Shepherd (Emma Kay); sister, Sue Shepherd, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Newton and Nona Shepherd; brother, Leroy Shepherd; husband, Ralph Kinney; son, Lawrence Kinney, and husband, Charles Moore. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, September 30th at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, with Pastor Tim Post and Brother Buddy Kinney officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m.- 2 p.m. immediately before the service. Interment will follow at Stevenson Cemetery, Bastrop, Louisiana, with Brother Jamie Pullin officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Pullin, Casey Pullin, Coty Reynolds, Paul Buffington, Daniel Woodson, and Corby Sturdivant. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23 She will be deeply missed, but we rejoice knowing she is resting in the arms of her Savior.
