Funeral services for Paul Felton Dark are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Rev. Britt Dupree and Rev. Phillip McCready officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, prior to the service, beginning at 1 PM. Mr. Dark, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the age of ninety-two. He was a faithful member of Central Missionary Baptist Church and retiree of LP&L after thirty-two years. Mr. Dark was also a United States Army Veteran having served in the Combat Engineering Division in Germany. He was an avid LSU sports fan and loved running dogs and deer hunting with his friends in Bastrop and brothers in Jackson Parish. Mr. Dark enjoyed growing a garden every year, and especially enjoyed sharing that garden with his friends and family. He loved his family and friends dearly and will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him! Mr. Dark is survived by his wife, Shirley Dark; daughters, Terri Anderson of Bastrop, LA, and Janis Mercer of Sterlington, LA; son, Michael Dark of Abita Springs, LA; grandchildren, Staci Breed, Matthew Rinehart, Michael Rinehart, and Mandi Anderson; great grandchildren, Abbigale Breed, Cole Breed, Graci Reynolds, Luke Bradley, Mia Rinehart, Zeke Rinehart, Westyn Rinehart, Michaela Thomas, Aidan Rinehart, Hailey Andrews; and great-great grandchildren, Bubba Breed, Brantley Breed, and Rowdy Breed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Eugene Dark and Lela Eldridge Dark; sisters, Leetie Spangler, Linnie Flask, and Syble Hammett; brothers, Allon Dark, Alton Dark, J.B. Dark, Bermie Dark; and beloved son-in-law, Bobby Rex Mercer. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Reynolds, Jimmy Lane Farrar, Lynn Moore, Steven Zeringue, Jay White, and Rodney Hopkins. Honorary pallbearers will be the Social Security Hounds Sunday School Class, Billy Ellingburg, Ron Pettis, and Johnny Legg.
